We proudly offer a prompt reliable wool service to our clients and work closely with our wool consultant Myles Oldershaw who has been working in the wool industry since 1970, and wool broker Alan Robertson (Rocky) at Rokelay Wool NZ Ltd.
We take core samples using our coring machine from bales which get tested by NZWTA, then appraised by our wool broker. These results are given to the NZ main wool exporters to price which gives our clients current competitive prices for their wool.

GAV FAIR – THE DAG MAN HIMSELF
Managing Director
Gav is the person who does it all, very hands on – drives the truck, organises the wool store, pricing and has a great relationship with our farmer clients. Likes to chat with our wholesale customers when they come in. He is our ideas man who has such a passion for everything wool and our products. When he isn’t working which isn’t often, he loves to spend time with his family and going to the beach.
LOCHIE FAIR
Store Manager
Lochie has recently joined The Dag Man team as our store manager and main truck driver. He’ll be out driving around the Wairarapa picking up wool from clients and supervising the operations in the store.
JO FAIR
Managing Director-Office Administrator
Jo is our office and store administrator. She does help on the bagging plant when needed. Loves living on their lifestyle block in the Wairarapa with a small flock of sheep and a few other animals. Likes to garden and enjoys using the powdered sheep manure and wool mulch. Jo loves spending time with family and being a nana.
MYLES OLDERSHAW
Wool Consultant
Myles has been working in the wool in the industry since 1970. A man who after 55 years, is full of knowledge about wool. Has been a part of the Golden Shears event in Masterton for many years as a judge of the wool and has a long history of working with our wool broker, Rocky.
ALAN ROBERTSON (ROCKY)
Wool Broker
Starting his time in the wool industry in Melbourne in 1973 where he spent 3 years before coming to New Zealand. He continued gaining knowledge and being involved in all parts of the wool industry. Operates Rokelay Wool NZ Ltd and after 52 years in the wool industry is a well-known man.
